I have tried to upgrade my Hifidelio PRO 160 with a 400 Gb Samsung SPinpoint HD.
I have used HDreset and was able install this hardisk and put the OS back (and upgrade to 2.2.23) No problems yet.
But, then it started:
- recovery with DISKSYNC failed. DISKSYN gave all kind of read and verify errors.
- manually copying all files back to the //sound/music folder worked, but the music files did not show up in de library. And using the options "rchckec musics files and check library"did not help: the music files did not show up in the library.
- manuaal putting back to old library (from the backup) did not work either: the music files could not be played.

And then decided to put all music files back to the import folder and re-import them.
Again failure: the music files copied correctly to the import folder, but the import itself failed (onlu 1% of the files where imported, the rest imported, but ignored).

It seemded that some of the files (with ls -l in TELNET session) had a file lenght of .
By the way: if i mounted my backup drive, i coudlPLAY the music files form my mbackup drive directly, so the files where correctly on the backup.

SO, long story, short question: does anybody have an idea what went wrong?

Hi wolfert,

i thing, the new HD is probably half dead.

It sounds very strange, that the system installed, but the fidel does not work proberly afterwards.

Normally a problem with using a new hd is a total "non-operating hd"
or it runs ...

if you have a chance of testing an other hd, give it a try ...

or does it use too much energy?
that would bei noteable, i suppose, as a "strange sound" of the hd ...
