Dear Germans,

As a Hollander I don't speak German well. Sorry about that.

I can buy a 80 Gb Hifidelio for 200 euro. I know it has a 80 Gb 2.5 " harddisk, and I wonder if I can replace it with a 1TB 2, 5 " SATA harddisk? Is the data size a problem? Which IDE-SATA converter should I use?

Second problem: The 80 Gb version had it's limitations. Are those limitations gone with other firmware?

Maybe these questions are answered allready, but as I said earlier: my German is very poor. Feel free to answer in German, I try to do my best to translate it, but your answers are pointed/aimed to my questions and that is a big help allready.
Is a 80Gb Hifidelio a good buy, or should I wait for a 160 Gb version to pass by?

Kind Regards, Rex.

if you like to change the HDD anyway it doesn't matter if you get a 80GB HF or the 160GB HF. The only difference is that you have to look for GetPro, otherwise the 80GB HF will always recognize only 80GB, regardless how big the HDD is.

SATA works, but unfortunately I cant' tell you which Adapter are fine. Maybe there are some tested Models in the wiki, but likely these one aren't buy-able anymore.

The 80GB Basic has a small IDE connector similar like a notebook.
The largest HDD on this system wich is possible, is a 320GB from WD.
A upgrade with a SATA I never seen before.
The SATA-converter needs external a power connector wich is not on the basic mainboard equipped.
The problem with the 80GB limmit can solved with getpro tool.

A 160GB or higher Hifidelio has a normal 3,5" HDD.
In this case you can easy change the hdd to a 2.5" SATA HDD and use the HDD power connector.

BYe André
