Hallo,

I have upgraded the firmware to 2.4.7 and have installed the new MiniPCI card. However, the fidel is experiencing problems connecting over WIFI and I would appreciate some advice. Please find further details below: -

I can connect directly to the fidel using Hifidelio Network which proves the WIFI card is working. However, I cannot connect when using Home Network or Expert Mode.

The router is an EchoLife HG556a and WIFI is secured using WPA2 TKIP.

The config for Home Network is: -

WLAN = ON
Internet via = WLAN
Network name = Hifidelio
Protection = WPA2
Key = router password
Web proxy = OFF

The config for Expert Mode is: -

WLAN = ON
Internet via = WLAN
IP Address = 192.168.1.201
Subnet Mask = 255.255.255.0
Router = 192.168.1.1
DNS = 192.168.1.1
Network Name = Hifidelio
Protection = WPA2
Key = router password
Web Proxy = OFF

Prior to installing the new WIFI card I had been connecting via ethernet using Expert Mode but had problems with my LAN chip overheating, hence the need for the new firmware and WIFI card.

Ideally I would like to continue to connect using Expert Mode to ensure I have a static IP but I need to get WIFI working.

On a previous thread I noticed that a user had to enter the MAC address of the fidel to get WIFI working.

Can you confirm if I need to enter the fidel's MAC address into my router?
If I do how can I locate the fidel's MAC address?

As always any advice is greatly appreciated.

Danke, Stig

Is this really the name of your home network, i.e. the SSID of your router's wlan?

Doh, and the prize for the world's stupidest man goes to....

I can't believe I made such a silly mistake, I have updated the network name and everything is working as expected.

Danke for the advice Gigi, at least it was not a serious issue :D
